Sudan Events – Monitoring
Acting Kassala Governor, Major General (Ret.) Al-Sadiq Mohamed Al-Azraq, launched the second phase of the food security support project in Sudan through a humanitarian aid convoy provided by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, in cooperation with its national partner, the Al-Ightinam Organization. This phase includes 2,500 food baskets, completing the first phase of aid targeting families displaced to Kassala from war-affected states and areas.
Al-Azraq expressed his deep gratitude to the government and people of Saudi Arabia, especially the King Salman Center and the Al-Ightinam Organization, for their continuous support and standing by Sudan. He noted that Kassala has received a large number of displaced people and has been affected by floods and poor health conditions.
Humanitarian Aid Commissioner Idris Ali Mohamed highlighted the commission’s vision to build real partnerships with partners and organizations for the benefit of Kassala’s residents and displaced people.
Idris reassured that all situations in the camps are stable and that the commission is working towards better conditions by activating partnerships with working organizations in the state.
He added that through community partnerships, breakfast is provided to 11,500 individuals in the camps. He thanked the King Salman Center and its national partner for providing the second batch and completing the commitments of the first phase of food baskets.
The representative of the Al-Ightinam Organization noted that in the first phase, 7,500 food baskets were distributed, containing various food items to help families meet their needs. He emphasized that the provided support is well-deserved for these families and not a matter of charity.
