The Wall Street Journal: Washington does not expect a deal between Israel and Hamas during Biden’s term
Sudan Events – Agencies
The Wall Street Journal reported today that U.S. officials currently believe it is unlikely that a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in Gaza will be reached before the end of President Joe Biden’s term in January.
The newspaper cited unnamed senior officials from the White House, the State Department, and the Department of Defense (Pentagon).
Washington previously stated that 90 percent of the ceasefire agreement had been reached, including the release of hostages, but gaps remain concerning the Israeli presence on the Philadelphia Corridor on the Gaza-Egypt border and the details of releasing Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.
