11 Bodies Found in Mexican Border City with the U.S

Sudan Events – Agencies
Mexican authorities announced the discovery of 11 bodies, including two decapitated ones, on Friday in the town of Ojinaga, located on the border with the U.S. and on a drug trafficking route in the state of Chihuahua.
The state’s Attorney General, Cesar Jauregui, told the press that the area near Texas, where the bodies were found, is a conflict zone between gangs.
Jauregui said, “Around Ojinaga, we were informed of the discovery of 11 bodies, including two decapitated ones.” He added that a note, believed to be from a criminal cartel, was found near the bodies.
However, the attorney general dismissed any connection to disputes between rival factions of the Sinaloa Cartel, which has rocked the state of the same name for almost two weeks, leaving over 40 dead.
Ojinaga is about 400 kilometers from Ciudad Juárez, the largest city in the state of Chihuahua, with a population of 22,000 people. It lies on the banks of the Rio Bravo, the natural border with the United States, opposite the American city of Presidio.
The spiral of violence linked to organized crime has killed more than 450,000 people and left around 100,000 missing in Mexico since 2006, according to official figures reported by Agence France-Presse.
