Hakimi Absent for PSG vs. Reims Clash
Sudan Events – Agencies
Moroccan international full-back Achraf Hakimi will miss Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) French Ligue 1 match against Reims on Saturday, as announced by the Parisian club.
Hakimi has been playing a series of matches in recent weeks, the latest being PSG’s 1-0 win over Girona in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, and a 3-1 victory over Brest earlier.
The Qatari-owned club did not respond to a question from AFP regarding the reason for Hakimi’s absence.
PSG’s Spanish coach, Luis Enrique, said in a press conference on Friday, “The French knock on wood for luck, don’t they? Achraf’s performance has been at its peak for years. We’re trying our best to take care of our players. Throughout the season, there are many moments to manage such situations.”
Also absent are Spanish winger Marco Asensio, out with a right thigh strain, and Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Long-term absentees include Portuguese striker Gonçalo Ramos (ankle), and defenders Lucas Hernández and Presnel Kimpembe.
PSG leads the league with four straight wins.
