Sudan’s Central Bank Bans Banking Finance for Refugees

The Central Bank of Sudan has issued a directive prohibiting banks from providing banking loans to refugees. In a circular distributed to all banks, the central bank did, however, permit refugees to access banking services and carry out transactions using their refugee identification cards. This comes as part of the Central Bank’s ongoing review of regulations governing banking operations.
