A meeting between Sudanese Foreign Minister Hussein Awad and his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdel Aaty discussed Egypt’s efforts through various international mechanisms to support Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Awad met Abdel Aaty on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. According to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting addressed efforts to find a solution to the crisis in Sudan, aiming to stop the bloodshed and achieve a comprehensive ceasefire while preserving Sudan’s resources. The Egyptian Foreign Minister emphasized his country’s efforts to facilitate the passage of aid trucks through border crossings, ensuring they meet the needs of the Sudanese people.
