Signing of a Contract to Establish a Gold Refinery in Atbara

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Urban Development in Atbara signed a contract for engineering consultancy services for the establishment of the Sudan Gold Refinery Company in Atbara. The contract was signed between the Ministry, represented by the acting minister Samir Saeed Abdullah, and the general manager of the company, Engineer Abdel-Habib Abu Al-Qasim Abdel-Habib.
The minister emphasized the importance of establishing the refinery in the Nile River State to support the national economy. He mentioned that the contract places the Ministry as a consultant responsible for conducting the studies, designs, supervision, and monitoring of the construction of the Sudan Gold Refinery project.
On his part, the company’s general manager praised the seriousness of the state government in moving forward with the project. He noted that the project is expected to be completed within six months, with an initial production capacity of over 200 kilograms per day, which can be increased in the following year.
