$8 Million from Donors for the Sudanese Red Crescent

The Sudanese Red Crescent Society announced the conclusion of the donor conference held in the Norwegian capital, Oslo, on September 24-25, aimed at gathering and attracting support for Sudan’s humanitarian crisis. The participants confirmed their commitment to supporting the society’s capacities and operations, with total pledges exceeding $8 million for various humanitarian efforts. The Sudanese Red Crescent Society said in a press release on Wednesday that the delegation, consisting of the society’s Secretary-General Aida Al-Sayed, the Director of International Cooperation and Partnerships Barakat Faris, and the Director of Capacity Development Sami Mahdi, presented the situation in Sudan and highlighted the challenges and obstacles related to humanitarian work. They also reviewed both the general intervention plan for 2025 and the society’s capacity development plan. The conference saw the participation of 30 representatives from the International Committee of the Red Cross, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, as well as the Red Cross organizations from Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Spain, Sweden, and the Turkish Red Crescent.
