Sudan and Russia discuss maritime transport investment opportunities

The Sudanese Shipping Line and a high-level Russian delegation, led by the Russian Ambassador to Sudan, held an extensive meeting to explore investment opportunities between the two sides. The meeting also discussed financing the construction of multi-purpose vessels to enhance the services of Sudan’s national maritime carrier.

The Sudanese delegation, led by Transport Minister Abubakr Abu Al-Qasim, included the Undersecretary for Planning at the Ministry of Finance, Mohammed Bashar Mohammed, the Chairman of the Sudanese Shipping Line, Omar Khalifa Ali, the company’s acting Director-General, and several advisors.

Transport Minister Abubakr Abu Al-Qasim expressed hope that the national carrier would receive several specialized ships by the end of the year to support Sudan’s foreign trade.
