Erdogan Accuses Israel of Committing “Genocide” in Lebanon

Sudan Events – Agencies
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday accused Israel of committing “genocide” in Lebanon, condemning the “brutal attacks” that killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and hundreds of civilians.
In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), Erdogan declared: “Lebanon and the Lebanese people are now the latest target of the genocidal, occupation, and invasion policy that Israel has pursued since October 7.”
He called on the UN Security Council and other international bodies to take action to stop Israel. Earlier, Hezbollah had confirmed the death of its leader Hassan Nasrallah, after the Israeli army announced it had killed him in an airstrike on Beirut on Friday.
Without naming Nasrallah, Erdogan expressed solidarity with the Lebanese people and government, offering condolences for the victims of the Israeli strikes and urging the Islamic world to adopt a “more determined stance.”
