Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The Revolutionary Awakening Council, led by Musa Hilal, said that its position in support of the armed forces and state institutions is fixed and has not changed.
According to Darfur 24, the council’s official spokesman, Ahmed Abkar, denied what was stated in voice messages on social media about the council’s forces gathering in the western direction of El Fasher in preparation for fighting alongside the Rapid Support Forces. Abkar said that this talk is misleading and has no basis in truth, confirming the council’s position announced some time ago. He continued: “There is an organized campaign to drag us into a specific square and we will not respond.” Abkar indicated that the council is continuing to coordinate and communicate with the leadership of the joint forces in North Darfur, and continued, “We have understandings that we will reveal at the time.”
