Sudan Events – Reports
On Sunday, Lieutenant General Yasser Al-Atta, a member of the Sovereignty Council and Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Army, visited the Al-Kadro Military Area north of Khartoum Bahri for the first time since the outbreak of the war. This visit occurred on the fourth day of a major military operation by the army to regain control over the cities of Khartoum and Khartoum Bahri.
Al-Atta, accompanied by Major General Mohammed Abbas Al-Labeeb, the Deputy Director of the General Intelligence Service, visited the Al-Kadro Military Area Command and inspected the army’s defenses after hours of troop deployment and joining forces with units from Omdurman, which had crossed the Halfaya Bridge.
During his speech to the soldiers, Al-Atta stated that the army had inflicted significant losses on the “enemy” across various battlefronts that have been active for days. He also explained that the conflict spans the entire capital and Gezira state, as well as areas where the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) are present in the White Nile, North Kordofan, and Darfur states.
Al-Atta confirmed that the army had obtained a large quantity of heavy weapons, including anti-aircraft guns, Dushka machine guns, and Kornet missile systems, which had arrived in Port Sudan.
The Commander of the Al-Kadro Military Area, Major General Al-Numan Awad Al-Sayed, stated during the reception of Al-Atta and Al-Labeeb that his forces were prepared to carry out any task assigned by the army leadership.
