Saudi Aramco to Invest in Sudan

Sudan’s Minister of Energy and Oil, Dr. Mohi El-Din Naim, announced that Sudan is open to cooperation with Saudi Arabia in the oil and gas sector, emphasizing the strong relationship between the two countries. He welcomed Saudi investment, especially in the Red Sea, and collaboration with Saudi Aramco.
During a meeting with the Saudi Ambassador to Sudan, Ali bin Hassan Jaafar, on Thursday, they discussed cooperation in various fields, particularly oil and gas. The ambassador highlighted a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two countries in 2021 for the exploration of oil and gas in the Red Sea. The ambassador noted that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had announced the establishment of a Saudi company to invest in Sudan with an initial capital of $5 billion. He expressed hope for the activation of agreements and joint cooperation between the two nations, suggesting a visit by Sudan’s energy minister to Saudi Arabia to meet his counterpart and visit Saudi Aramco.
