High Yield Expectations for Corn and Peanuts in New Halfa

The Federal Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Abu Bakr Al-Bushra, predicted high productivity for all crops during the current agricultural season.
He stated that there will be no famine or food gap in the country due to the significant efforts of the New Halfa Agricultural Authority, international and national organizations, companies, and farmers in successfully establishing the summer crop season.
The minister added that Sudan will not face hunger, pointing out that this year’s rainy season was promising with abundant and well-distributed rainfall.
Omar Taha Al-Bashir, the National Coordinator for Producers’ Organizations at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, affirmed that Sudan will not starve.
He revealed that their visit to the New Halfa Agricultural Authority, accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Dr. Abu Bakr Al-Bushra, and the Minister of Production and Economic Resources of Kassala, along with several organizations and companies, confirmed that the production outlook is promising. He noted the excellent establishment of crops, particularly corn and peanuts, which were supported by various organizations.
Taha predicted a very high yield on 36,000 acres, where technology was applied 100% for the first time at the New Halfa Agricultural Authority. Experts expect an average of 20 bags of corn and 60 bags of peanuts per acre. The minister praised the idea of expanding these experiences across Sudan.
