Qatari Emir: No Peace in the Region Without Establishing a Palestinian State
Sudan Events – Agencies
Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani stated on Thursday that what is happening in the region amounts to genocide, emphasizing that there will be no peace in the region without the establishment of a Palestinian state.
He added that Qatar has always warned against Israel escaping accountability, calling for increased efforts to stop its “aggression” against Lebanon.
He continued, “It is now glaringly obvious that what is happening is genocide, in addition to turning Gaza into an uninhabitable zone, paving the way for mass displacement.”
Israel strongly rejects accusations of committing genocide in Gaza. Last year, it launched an attack after Hamas and other factions attacked towns in southern Israel, resulting in 1,200 deaths and more than 250 hostages. Over 41,600 Gazans were killed during the Israeli assault, according to health authorities in the Hamas-run territory.
Israel also began a ground incursion into Lebanon this week, targeting Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran and has been firing on Israel in solidarity with Palestinians.
