Western airstrikes hit Houthi sites in Yemen
According to the French news agency, citing the Houthi-affiliated Al-Masirah channel, American and British aircraft launched a series of airstrikes on three Yemeni cities, including Sanaa and the coastal city of Hodeidah in the west of the country on Friday. The channel reported that “American-British aggression targeted Sanaa with four airstrikes, seven strikes on Hodeidah, and one strike on Dhamar city.” AFP reporters in Sanaa and Hodeidah reported hearing loud explosions in both cities.
Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi stated on Thursday that Yemen had been subjected to 39 Israeli and American airstrikes this week, adding that his group targeted 188 ships since November 2023 in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Indian Ocean, claiming these operations were in support of Gaza, which is experiencing an Israeli war. The Houthis announced on Monday that they would escalate their military operations against Israel in response to its attacks on Yemen.
