Militias Kidnap UN Employees

Sudan Events – Agencies

A group affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia has kidnapped employees working for the World Food Programme (WFP).

Informed sources told “Sudan News” that the rebel militia abducted the employees yesterday, taking them to an unknown location.

The sources pointed out the repeated attacks by the militia on humanitarian aid convoys and workers from international organizations. Recently, the militia attacked relief convoys of the World Food Programme in “Wadi Um Gandoul,” detaining 16 food trucks and threatening workers. They also assaulted UNICEF convoys carrying medicines and medical supplies for children.

The sources revealed that the RSF militia is deliberately obstructing international humanitarian efforts with the aim of starving citizens and using food as a weapon in their war against the Sudanese people.
