The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement – Democratic Revolutionary Stream submitted a memorandum to the leadership of the Coordination of Democratic Civil Forces (Taggaddom), calling for structural and political reforms to strengthen the alliance’s role in ending the war and achieving peace in Sudan.
According to informed sources, the memorandum, which comes three months after the alliance’s constituent conference, includes proposals to link the leadership structure with the General Secretariat and make the executive structure of the Secretariat subordinate to the leadership, aiming to prevent the dominance of certain groups and the overstepping of authority.
The Popular Movement also called for the participation of all components in decision-making and the development of a comprehensive plan to stop the war, enhance the alliance’s political discourse at both regional and international levels, in addition to addressing humanitarian issues and protecting civilians.
The source indicated that the memorandum criticized the lack of political and geographical balance in the representation of the alliance’s components, which prevents the formation of a critical mass capable of influencing the political scene. It also pointed out violations in the latest bylaws of the Constituent Conference and how the memos of resistance committees and civil society were handled.
