The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the U.S. administration’s decision to impose sanctions on Goni Dagalo, the brother of the Rapid Support Forces militia leader and its financial officer in charge of purchases, for his role in fueling the war and committing atrocities and violations against civilians.
The ministry said in a statement that the decision is a step in the right direction.
The statement added, “The Sudanese government expects that these measures will also apply to the rest of the terrorist militia’s leaders and all entities that supply them with weapons and funds, enabling them to recruit hundreds of thousands of foreign mercenaries to kill Sudanese citizens.”
