Nagelsmann: Pavlovic Will Return Against the Netherlands

Julian Nagelsmann, coach of the German national football team, announced today, Sunday, that midfielder Alexander Pavlovic will return from injury to participate in the UEFA Nations League match against the Netherlands at home. He will form a midfield duo with Angelo Stiller.
The 20-year-old Bayern Munich defensive midfielder missed Germany’s 2-1 win over Bosnia last Friday due to a knee injury.
In a press conference, Nagelsmann said, “Angelo and Pavlovic will play in midfield tomorrow,” praising the duo as rising stars in the team ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Pavlovic is already a regular starter for his club but missed the European Championship this summer due to illness.
The Netherlands match will be Stiller’s third appearance for the German national team, after being called up for the first time last month.
Nagelsmann commented on Stiller’s performance, saying, “He trains well and had a good season (with Stuttgart). He also started this season well. There are still some areas where he can improve, but I want to see him do so.”
The former Bayern Munich coach added, “Given his age, he’s a strong candidate for us. We have two years until the World Cup, so we need some young players.”
Germany drew 2-2 with the Netherlands in Amsterdam last month and currently leads Group C in League A of the Nations League with seven points, two points ahead of the second-placed Netherlands after three matches. Hungary has two points, and Bosnia sits at the bottom with one.
