Taiwan on High Alert After Sighting of Chinese Aircraft Carrier Group

Taiwan’s military declared a state of “high alert” on Sunday after spotting a Chinese aircraft carrier south of the island. Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense reported that the Chinese carrier Liaoning entered waters near the Bashi Channel, possibly heading toward the western Pacific, and the military is prepared to respond if necessary.
