Al-Atta: Islamists Did Not Start the War; Leaders in “Forces of Freedom and Change” Fight Against the Army

Sudan Events – Agencies
Sudanese Army Assistant Commander-in-Chief and Sovereignty Council member, General Yasser Al-Atta, stated that the situation on all battlefronts in Sudan is clearly, significantly, and rapidly shifting in favor of the armed forces. He affirmed that the army is advancing confidently to achieve its goals and suppress the rebellion, not only in the capital but also in Al-Jazira, North Kordofan, Darfur, and all battle axes.
In an interview with the Egyptian newspaper “Al-Shorouk,” Al-Atta denied the claims made by Rapid Support Forces commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo “Hemedti” regarding the involvement of Egyptian air forces in the fight against his forces, saying that “this is a false accusation from a liar and ignorant man to justify his defeat and express his hatred towards the Egyptian people while serving the regional policies of Ethiopia and some allied countries.”
Al-Atta asserted that Islamists did not ignite the war and have no connection to it, while Hemedti sought the support of Islamic movement leaders to ally with him in elections to seize power.
He confirmed that the Darfur region will not secede, emphasizing that they have no choice but to win the battle in Al-Fasher. He also accused the civilian partner in the constitutional document of rebelling against the state and supporting foreign invaders, noting that several videos show members of the Sudanese Congress Party and leaders from “Forces of Freedom and Change” fighting against the army.
