Seventeen judges and legal advisors refused to accept appointments by the Rapid Support Forces militia to fill judicial positions in East Darfur state.
The head of the civilian administration of East Darfur, appointed by the militia, had planned to appoint judges, legal advisors, and prosecutors to run the state’s judicial affairs.
Sources reported to “Darfur2” that the refusals were due to the security situation, which does not allow for the operation of courts and the unsuitability of the environment for the administration of justice.
