Leipzig’s Manager: We Can Compensate for Raum’s Absence

Leipzig’s football club does not plan to search for a replacement for injured German international defender David Raum.
According to the “German News Agency,” Marcel Schäfer, the club’s sporting director, said in a statement to “Sky” on Thursday: “We are confident in our ability to compensate for this absence and that we are in a good position.”
The German international defender suffered a ligament injury during Leipzig’s match against Heidenheim on October 6 and underwent surgery.
His potential replacement, teammate Benjamin Henrichs, left the German national team camp last week due to a back issue and is currently training individually. It remains unclear whether Henrichs will be fit for the match against Mainz in the Bundesliga this Saturday.
Leipzig’s management will have to wait until the winter transfer window opens on January 1 to sign another player. Until then, they can only sign a player not currently under contract with another team.
