Vital Road in North Darfur Closed Due to Tensions Within Militia Ranks

Sudan Events – Agencies
Local sources in the town of Korma, west of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, revealed on Sunday that internal disputes within the Rapid Support Forces led to the closure of the road connecting Tawila and Korma, passing through Kutum.
A local leader from the Shoba area east of Korma told “Darfur24” that the security tensions stem from longstanding disputes within the RSF over the transportation of goods to El Fasher.
He added, “The conflicts are due to the strict decision by the RSF to impose a blockade on El Fasher, but there are conflicting interests within the leadership itself because some commercial vehicles belong to some commanders, leading them to oppose the decision to prevent the transportation of goods through Korma.”
