Sudan Events – Agencies
On Monday, activists accused mercenaries and mobilized forces affiliated with the RSF militia of launching an assault on villages in Sennar city, resulting in over 120 civilian casualties.
The Sennar Youth Coalition stated that “mobilized forces from the RSF, recruited from Umm Shawka villages and mercenaries from South Sudan, committed horrific massacres in Umm Shawka city.”
The coalition indicated that the death toll in Umm Shawka exceeded 120 victims.
The coalition attributed the RSF mobilized forces’ attack on Umm Shawka to looting, in addition to killings and ethnic cleansing targeting the city’s residents.
The coalition mentioned that the mobilized attackers hailed from the nearby villages of Shakka, Zainuba, Dagla Al-Imara, and Hilla Dawood.
They reported that the mobilized forces exploited the escape of RSF leaders from the area to carry out massacres and executions within Umm Shawka, emphasizing that the city was left without the fighting RSF force, leaving behind mobilized elements and mercenaries from South Sudan.
