Sudan Events – Follow-ups
Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, the Minister of Finance, leads Sudan’s delegation at the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group for 2024, held from October 21-26 in Washington.
The meetings focus on the general session, the Development Committee, the IMF Committee, and the Financial Committee.
The Sudanese delegation, which includes Planning Undersecretary Mohammed Bashar Mohammed and a technical team from relevant departments, is expected to make some progress in addressing Sudan’s external debt and refinancing vital projects in health, education, and humanitarian support through specialized international organizations.
On the sidelines of the meetings, the Minister is also scheduled to meet representatives of some organizations, IMF and World Bank departments, and regional financial institutions, as well as hold bilateral meetings with several counterparts to deepen economic cooperation and strengthen ties with bilateral partners.
