Harris: Trump “demeans” the office of the US presidency

US Vice President Kamala Harris said on Sunday that her rival in the race for the White House, Donald Trump, “demeans” the office of the president with his coarse language, following the Republican candidate’s use of an offensive term against her.
Harris stated in an interview aired on the American channel “MSNBC” that Trump’s comment was an insult to the office of the president and undermines the United States’ moral authority on the international stage. Responding to a question about Trump’s remark, she said, “What you see in my opponent, a former president of the United States, truly demeans the office.”
During a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, Trump attacked Harris, calling her a “failed vice president, the worst. You’re fired, get out of here,” urging the crowd to send the message at the ballot box. Responding to a question about how she handles daily insults from her Republican rival, the Democratic candidate emphasized the importance of the US presidency beyond Washington.
She explained, “When you represent the United States of America, you enter rooms around the world with the deserved and legitimate authority to speak about the importance of democracy and the rule of law.” Harris said that Trump should not be allowed to lead the country again
