Sudanese Sovereign Council President and army commander, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, on Wednesday pledged to arm citizens in Eastern Al-Jazira and eradicate the RSF militia.
Al-Burhan, accompanied by senior military leaders, arrived in the Al-Butana region.
Speaking to a gathering of the Shukriya tribe, Al-Burhan said, “Anyone capable of carrying a weapon, we will arm them, and if you ask for weapons, we will provide them.”
He continued, “If we unleash you, we are sure you will not stop.”
He also pledged to increase the army’s forces in the region and to fight until the RSF is eliminated.
Al-Burhan paid his respects to the family of Brigadier General Ahmed Shaadin, commander of army operations in Al-Butana, who was killed on Tuesday near the city of Tamboul, Eastern Al-Jazira.
