Sudan Events – Reports
The Governor of Darfur, Mini Arko Munawe, stated that the Deputy Commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Abdul Rahim Daglo, proposed to him an alliance against the army to separate Darfur from Sudan, stressing his rejection of this call and his commitment to the unity of Sudan. In an interview with Radio France Internationale during his recent visit to Paris, Munawe explained that his multiple visits to N’Djamena aimed to seek peace and maintain good relations between Chad and Sudan. He added that in June 2023, meetings were held between him and Abdul Rahim Daglo, during which many topics were discussed and lasted for more than three days, “we disagreed on his proposal to separate Darfur from Sudan, and he suggested I join him to wrest Darfur from the army.” Munawe concluded his remarks by saying that Abdul Rahim was evasive when asked about the purpose of this separation.
