Twelve agricultural workers were killed and injured in an accident involving a pest control plane that collided with a small truck while landing on a dirt runway in the Fashaga agricultural area of Gedaref State on the Sudan-Ethiopia border.
Director-General of the Ministry of Agriculture in Gedaref, Ammar Abdullah Suleiman, stated that four agricultural workers died, and eight others were injured in the incident.
The Ukrainian pilot and his two-person crew were unharmed, but the plane suffered damage to its wing and propeller.
The company owning the plane pledged to provide a replacement to continue pest control operations.
