Jaber Pledges Support for the Ministry of Animal Resources’ Efforts in Protecting and Developing the National Herd

Member of the Sovereign Council, Assistant Commander-in-Chief, Engineer Ibrahim Jaber, was briefed on the performance of the Ministry of Animal Resources and the challenges it faces amid the current conditions. This came during his meeting on Sunday with the appointed Minister of Animal Resources, Dr. Osama Mazmil. The member of the Sovereign Council promised to support the Ministry of Animal Resources in fully restoring the capabilities and mechanisms that enable it to provide veterinary care services and develop the country’s animal resources exports. For his part, Minister of Animal Resources clarified that the ministry’s activities are proceeding well despite the repercussions of the current crisis on the country, revealing that preparations are complete and necessary vaccines are provided for the local herd vaccination campaign and for the export herd, as well as for combating seasonal diseases and mosquitoes and other disease vectors in several secure states. Mazmil noted that the ministry has made clear progress in completing the networking between animal resources and other state agencies to facilitate export operations, adding that the ministry supports poultry industry chambers to rehabilitate the sector and restore its vitality to achieve food security and meet the country’s needs for white meat.
