Official: Rodri Wins the 2024 Ballon d’Or
Spanish midfielder Rodri Hernández of Manchester City won the 2024 Ballon d’Or for the world’s best player, presented by France Football.
The award was announced during the Monday ceremony in Paris, France.
Rodri led Spain to the European Championship title this past summer, earning the tournament’s best player award, and contributed to Manchester City’s fourth consecutive English league title.
He surpassed Real Madrid’s Vinícius Júnior, who finished in second place.
Lionel Messi holds the record for the most Ballon d’Or wins, with eight titles in (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2019, 2021, and 2023).
