Sudan Events – Follow-ups
Mohammed Chande Othman, head of the UN Independent Fact-Finding Mission in Sudan, revealed that most sexual violence crimes were committed by the Rapid Support Forces and allied militias, with victims ranging from 8 to 75 years old.
In his Tuesday report, Othman said, “The scale of documented sexual violence in Sudan is staggering,” based on interviews with victims, families, and witnesses.
He confirmed that the Rapid Support Forces and its allies are responsible for widespread sexual violence, including gang rape, kidnapping, and detaining victims in conditions amounting to sexual slavery.
