Goldsmiths’ Association Welcomes Issuance of First Export Certificate Through Unified Window

The Sudanese Goldsmiths’ Association and gold traders and exporters welcomed the issuance of the first “Gold Export Certificate” through the unified window as an experimental start. Former association head, Atef Ahmed, told Al-Ahdath that they have been advocating for the implementation of the unified window for three to four years.

Atef expressed hope that the unified export window in Port Sudan would be operational soon, noting that it is a crucial step in facilitating gold export procedures, as gold represents an essential economic resource for the country. He emphasized that this step would also significantly reduce gold smuggling.
