IMF: Sudan to See Highest Inflation in the Arab Region by 2025

According to recent IMF data, inflation across Arab nations is expected to vary significantly in 2025. Sudan is projected to experience the highest inflation rate in the region, reaching approximately 119% despite an expected decrease from the current level of around 200%. Inflation for the current year is estimated to hit 200.1%, an increase of around 123% from last year.
Egypt is expected to have the second-highest inflation rate at 21.2%, while Qatar is projected to have the lowest at 1.4%, reflecting economic stability supported by a strong energy sector and stable domestic markets. Sudan’s Central Bureau of Statistics reported that annual inflation in September 2024 rose by 215.52% compared to the same month last year.
