Telecommunications Authority Issues Directives Regarding Citizens’ Closed SIM Cards
Sudan Events – Follow-up
Sudan’s Telecommunications and Postal Regulatory Authority has directed telecommunications companies not to permanently deactivate citizens’ closed SIM cards, considering that many Sudanese citizens are currently outside the country due to ongoing conflicts.
Under telecommunications law, companies deactivate any unused SIM card after a three-month period. The authority also announced measures to facilitate the issuance of new SIM cards, particularly for citizens, military personnel, and those deployed in combat zones.
