Sudan Events – News Report
A contract to fund the winter agricultural season across various Sudanese states has been signed. The agreement was formalized by Dr. Mohamed Adam, Director-General of the Sudanese Agricultural Bank, and the Director-General of Nabta Petroleum Company, marking a collaborative effort to support winter agriculture in Sudan.
The contract stipulates the provision of fuel for agricultural activities in the states of Northern Sudan, Nile River, Kassala, White Nile, and Al-Jazirah, in addition to the Halfa Al-Jadida and Rahad agricultural projects.
Dr. Mohamed Adam Abdel Karim, Director-General of the Agricultural Bank, praised Nabta Company for its continuous contributions to agricultural financing, noting that the company fully funded the previous agricultural season for 2023-2024 with an investment of 35 billion Sudanese pounds and is continuing its support this season. He highlighted that Nabta has consistently supplied agricultural fuel to states across the country since 2006.
Mohamed Hassan Mohamed, Director of Nabta Petroleum, confirmed the company’s readiness to supply the necessary fuel to complete the ongoing summer harvest operations and for the upcoming winter agricultural season, which is essential for ensuring Sudan’s strategic food reserves. This support is especially critical given the challenging circumstances faced by the country due to ongoing conflict.
