Casemiro: Eager to Learn from Amorim

Brazilian midfielder Casemiro stated that his Manchester United teammates are eager to learn from their new Portuguese manager, Ruben Amorim, who is expected to arrive in the UK on Monday to begin the challenging task of revitalizing the struggling club, succeeding Dutchman Erik ten Hag, who was sacked.
The brief tenure of former Dutch international striker Ruud van Nistelrooy as interim manager ended with a significant 3-0 win over Leicester City on Sunday in the 11th round, marking the third win in four matches since the dismissal of his compatriot Ten Hag.
Casemiro is looking forward to working with Amorim, the highly respected manager of Sporting Lisbon.
After the victory over Leicester, Casemiro said, “He is very realistic and very committed,” adding, “We cannot ignore how he transformed his team. We know that Sporting won titles and cups with him.”
He continued, “He has already proven himself to be a great coach. I believe he will be a great role model, and everyone will want to grow with him and learn from him. I think that’s the key to helping us improve and reach the top of the table.”
Amorim, 39, will not be able to lead training sessions for Manchester United until he obtains a work permit, but he is allowed to be present at the Carrington training ground for the team’s specific sessions. Conversations with Van Nistelrooy, who remains popular and returned to Old Trafford in July as Ten Hag’s assistant, will be high on his agenda.
Amorim’s first match in charge of the team will be away against Ipswich Town on November 24, meaning there won’t be enough time to implement his expected 3-4-3 system.
Casemiro’s performance has improved after a disappointing start to the season, particularly following two costly mistakes in the heavy 3-0 loss to Liverpool at Old Trafford.
The former Real Madrid midfielder commented, “Well, everyone can see it, right? I only made mistakes in the Liverpool game, right? The whole team wasn’t good in that match.”
He added, “I want to continue improving, helping my teammates, the coach, and the club.”
Amorim bid farewell to Sporting Lisbon in style on Sunday, leading them to a stunning comeback from 2-0 down to win 4-2 against his former club, Sporting Braga.
The Portuguese champions announced on Monday that they had appointed his fellow countryman, João Pereira, the coach of their reserve team, as the new head coach of the first team.
