Confirmations on the Role of Seaports in Supporting the Economy

The Director-General of the Seaports Authority, Mohamed Hassan Mukhtar, emphasized the national role that the Seaports Authority plays in supporting the country’s economy during wartime, crediting the dedication of its employees and its support for the armed forces. In a meeting on Monday with White Nile State Governor Omar Al-Khalifa, he commended the seaports’ contributions to social responsibility. Both officials discussed appropriate ways to support the regions of Sennar, Jebel Moya, White Nile State, and other areas affected by the conflict, as well as extending support to the armed forces in those areas.

The Director-General also highlighted the importance of engaging the authority’s partners from various sectors, especially shipping agency representatives, in supporting both the armed forces and the regions impacted by the conflict. He further stated that the White Nile State serves as the geographic and social host for the Kosti Dry Port, making it essential to provide additional support to the state.
