(930) Million Pounds Revenue from Al-Obeid Crop Market

The Executive Director of the Al-Obeid Crop Market, Hassan Bab Al-Rahma, confirmed that the market has exceeded the financial target for the revenue of 2024 by collecting an amount of (930) million pounds.

He stated in an interview that the market’s budget target for 2024 was (750) million pounds. He also revealed the destruction of financial receipts worth more than 123 million pounds recently, which were outside the collection process. This contributes greatly to tracking stored crops, ensuring all financial procedures are complete, and preventing duplication and smuggling.

Hassan added that the destruction of financial receipts is part of the stock clearing process and early preparations for the 2025 marketing season.

Regarding challenges affecting performance, he pointed out the lack of an internet network for client transactions.

Hassan also called for the settlement of the development and market improvement fee, which amounts to more than 150 million pounds for the years 2023-2024, to enhance the market’s general environment.
