Eight Soldiers Killed, Seven Policemen Kidnapped in Pakistan

Eight soldiers were killed, and seven policemen were kidnapped in two attacks in northwestern Pakistan on Monday evening, claimed by the Pakistani Taliban, officials from police and intelligence told AFP on Tuesday.

An intelligence officer, speaking anonymously, said, “Eight soldiers” and “nine attackers” were killed in an attack claimed by the Pakistani Taliban.

Separately, a senior police officer, also requesting anonymity, said, “Seven policemen were kidnapped” in another attack.
