Issar: The State Foiled the Militia’s Media Domination Plan

Sudan Events – Reports
Minister of Culture and Information, Khalid Al-Issar, emphasized the intense battles being waged on multiple fronts as part of the “Dignity War,” alongside military operations on the ground. He noted that the media battle is the most critical, directly influencing military outcomes.
During a visit to the headquarters of the General Authority for Radio and Television in Port Sudan on Wednesday, Al-Issar highlighted that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) had allocated extensive resources to dominate Sudan’s media landscape. He revealed that seizing control of independent and national media was a top priority for the RSF from the outset of the conflict, evidenced by surveillance footage showing the presence of RSF leader Yusuf Izzat at the radio and television headquarters during the early days of the war.
The Minister praised the resilience of Sudan’s state institutions, which thwarted the RSF’s plan to take over the media, and commended the authority’s efforts to maintain operations under challenging conditions. He called on global media professionals to support their Sudanese counterparts, citing the immense challenges faced by Sudanese journalists due to RSF violations.
