Firing of 42 Tribal Leaders in West Darfur for Their Allegiance to the Militia

The Governor of West Darfur, Bahr al-Din Adam Karama, issued decisions to dismiss 42 tribal leaders for their allegiance to the Rapid Support Forces militia.
According to the decree issued by the Governor of West Darfur, “It was decided to relieve the princes, the elders, and the mayors who declared their support and cooperation with the Rapid Support Forces militia.” He also instructed the relevant authorities to follow up on the procedures for filing charges against the dismissed leaders.
The decree indicated that the dismissed group had incited attacks against the state and its institutions, stirred tribal and regional tensions by mobilizing their tribal members to participate in acts of killing, torture, detention, forced displacement of citizens, in addition to looting and vandalizing both public and private property.
