Netherlands Ready to Act on ICC Arrest Warrant for Netanyahu

The Dutch News Agency (ANP) reported today (Thursday) that Dutch Foreign Minister Kasper Veldkamp stated the Netherlands is ready to act on the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, if necessary.
The ICC issued arrest warrants today for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Defense Minister Yoav Galant, and Hamas leader Mohammed Deif in connection with “war crimes in Gaza.”
The ICC stated in a statement that there are “reasonable grounds” to believe that Netanyahu and Galant committed crimes, explaining that “revealing these arrest warrants serves the victims’ interests.”
The ICC’s statement added that “Israel’s acceptance of the court’s jurisdiction is not necessary.”
The ICC also pointed out that “the war crimes charges against Netanyahu and Galant include using starvation as a weapon of war, as well as killing, persecution, and other inhumane acts.”
