The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported today (Thursday) that the death toll from Israel’s attack on Palmyra in the eastern countryside of Homs yesterday has risen to 79.
The “Syrian Observatory” stated that 53 of the casualties were from Iranian-backed factions, while 4 belonged to the Lebanese group Hezbollah.
It also noted that the Israeli airstrikes on Palmyra resulted in 34 other injuries, including 7 civilians.
The Observatory had reported yesterday, Wednesday, that Israeli aircraft targeted three locations in Palmyra, including a meeting site for Iranian factions with leaders from the Iraqi al-Nujaba movement and a Hezbollah commander.
It added that the Israeli strikes also targeted two locations in the Al-Jamiyat neighborhood, one of which was an arms depot near the industrial area inhabited by families of Iran-backed militants.
