Sudan Participates in International Dates Council Meeting in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia hosted the fourth session of the International Dates Council with the participation of related organizations, associations, and bodies.
The Sudanese Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, represented by the General Administration of the Horticultural Sector, participated in the meeting held in Riyadh. Dr. Mayada Hassan Abdelsalam Abdullah, representing the Minister of Agriculture, delivered a speech highlighting the council’s activities for 2024 and expressed gratitude for its support to Sudan’s date sector.
The meeting discussed the council’s action plan for 2025, priority projects, and the council’s annual report. The council includes members from countries such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Sudan, Mauritania, and others, aiming to enhance international cooperation in developing the palm and dates sector, improve production and marketing, support innovative research, and promote rural development and food security.
