Sudan Events – Follow-ups
Sudan’s Ambassador to Egypt, Lieutenant General Imad Mustafa Adawi, confirmed that the ongoing war has not impacted the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Sudan.
Speaking at the opening of the first Egyptian-Sudanese Businessmen Forum, he noted the stability of trade exchange during the years 2022–2023, as well as the steady flow of capital between the two countries.
Adawi stated that the war has acted as a catalyst for further cooperation and enhancement, aiming to create a comprehensive economic reality between the two nations.
He added that Sudan is preparing for the post-war phase and is focused on strengthening national efforts. He emphasized that joint work is the foundation for achieving mutual interests. He also pointed out that the war, imposed by militias, has affected the country’s economic situation, necessitating increased cooperation to benefit both the Egyptian and Sudanese economies.
