The Sudanese army called on the government of South Sudan on Saturday not to allow members of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia to cross into its territory after they fled from the city of Singa, the capital of Sennar state.
Colonel Abadi Al-Taher Al-Zain, commander of the “Al-Naba’ Al-Yaqeen” mobile unit, said in a video broadcasted by military-affiliated pages from inside Singa: “The RSF members have looted the resources and money of the Sudanese people, and they are now heading to South Sudan. Our message to the South Sudanese government is not to allow them to cross the borders, as we will chase them wherever they go.”
Al-Zain confirmed that the armed forces are determined to pursue the remaining RSF elements up to the border with South Sudan. He revealed that the militia suffered heavy losses in both personnel and military vehicles during the battle to retake Singa.
