Ukrainian Army: Russia Launches Drone Attack on Kyiv
The Ukrainian army reported on Sunday that air defense units destroyed over ten Russian drones targeting the capital, Kyiv, during a drone attack last night.
Kyiv’s military administration said via Telegram that no damages or casualties had been reported yet. Further details about the extent of the attack will be released later in the day.
Serhiy Popko, head of Kyiv’s military administration, stated: “The drones were flying in various directions toward Kyiv… The air raid alert in the city lasted over three hours.”
Witnesses from Reuters reported explosions believed to be caused by air defense operations.
Russia has not commented on the attack.
Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced via Telegram on Sunday that Russian air defense systems had destroyed 34 Ukrainian drones, including 27 over the border region of Kursk. The ministry did not refer to an earlier statement from Kursk’s governor, who reported that two Ukrainian missiles were intercepted overnight.
